William Hale is Assistant Under-Librarian in the Department of Rare Books and Early Manuscripts at Cambridge University Library; he has also worked in libraries in Oxford, Manchester and London. He has previously contributed to Treasures from Lord Fairhaven’s Library in Anglesey Abbey (Swindon, 2013) and Emprynted in Thys Manere: Early Printed Treasures from Cambridge University Library (Cambridge, 2014) and is working on a bibliography of the English carol.
