The Romance of Business

  • Bruce Gaston (author)
Clovis’ aunt is talking to his about his cousin Sophie Chabhouse, who is extremely rich but also extremely mean. She tells him how Sophie was boasting about a beaver-skin stole that she had bought for a reduced price. His aunt tricks her by ordering a more expensive stole on approval and misrepresenting the price, to make Sophie think she has overpaid for hers. As a result, she sells her more expensive stole to Clovis’ aunt at a reduced price. The second stole is then returned to the store for a refund. Clovis commends his aunt for her business skills.
