Na'ama Pat-El (PhD, Harvard University, 2008) is Associate Professor of Semitic Languages and Linguistics at the University of Texas, Austin. Her research is focused on historical linguistics, mostly syntactic change, and language contact. She has recently edited with John Huehnergard the second edition of The Semitic Languages (Routledge, 2019).
