This section is a translation of the Specific Variants (Farš al-ḥurūf) of the Taysīr. It progresses linearly through the order of the Quran, and at every verse in every chapter where there is a different reading between the seven reading traditions, the differences are specified in detail.

(author)Marijn van Putten is assistant professor at the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics. His research focuses on the linguistics, and transmission history of the Quranic text and the Quranic reading traditions. Besides this, he also researches the linguistic history of Arabic and Berber. He is currently the PI of the ERC Consolidator project: QurCan: The Canonization of the Quranic Reading Traditions.
