Chapter of: City of Capital and Labour: The Making and Transformation of Industrial Manchester (pp. 285–292)
This concludes the study by briefly tracing the rapid decline of industrial Manchester in the second half of the twentieth century and its reconfiguration as a post-industrial city. It is in the context of regeneration that Manchester’s ‘industrial heritage’ has either been demolished or integrated into the city’s cultural economy. The aim of the book is to promote a critical interest in Manchester’s historic built environment.
