Open Book Publishers is committed to the Open Access publication of high quality academic research in the humanities and social sciences. We are excited that, during our first year of operations, our free digital editions have been accessed by people in over 120 countries, and that each of our books are being viewed by about ten unique readers every single day. This means are books are reaching about as many people per month as many traditional - print only - titles will reach in their entire published life. We are reliant on donations of time and money by individuals and institutions to help us offset these production costs. As a Social Enterprise we do not operate for commercial profit, and you can be assured that your donation will be used to create new Open Access publications.
We would love to hear from you if you would be willing to volunteer to help us in any aspect of our work: proofreading, typesetting, copyediting, marketing, developing our website, providing specialist expertise in your own field of research... There is always lots to do - so if you would be willing to help us please let us know!
We are also very happy to receive donations - of any size! Donations can be made directly using the Paypal donations button on this page or, if you are a UK taxpayer, then you can also make 'Gift Aid' donations through Citylife - a national charity supporting our work. Gift Aid donations go further, and may cost you less, as they allow us to claim an additional 28% as tax rebate and higher rate tax payers will also be able to claim additional tax relief on any donation.
We have four categories of sponsorship available:
1. Page Sponsor:
A donation of £25 or more will be covering the production costs for a page in one of our publications - helping to ensure the work as a whole is made available to all in Open Access format. As a Page Sponsor you will be eligible to a 10% discount on all purchases made from our website for 12 months after your donation. You will receive our regular newsletters updating you on information about Open Book Publishers and our new publications.
2. Chapter Sponsor:
A donation of £250 or more will be covering the production costs for a chapter in one of our publications. Your donation will be associated with the production of a specific publication, and we will be very happy to send you a free copy of that work, and to acknowledge your donation on the website associated with the book. As a Chapter Sponsor you will also receive a 15% discount on all purchases made from our website for 12 months after you donation and receive our regular newsletters updating you on information about Open Book Publishers and our new publications.
3. Book Sponsor
With a donation of £3000 you will be covering the production costs for an entire book - ensuring that the work is freely and globally available. We will be happy to discuss with you which of our forthcoming titles you would like to sponsor, and to acknowledge your donation - in print - on the copyright page of the work, as well as on the website associated with the book. In addition we will provide you with a specially inscribed hardback edition of the work, personally acknowledging your donation. You will also receive updates on the number and location of readers who have accessed the book online - allowing you to keep track of the number of people who have directly benefited from your donation. As a Book Sponsor you will also receive a 20% discount on all purchases made from our website for 24 months after you donation and receive our regular newsletters updating you on information about Open Book Publishers and our new publications.
4. Institutional Sponsor
